National honors, won in high school.

NHSCA, Brute/adidas, ASICS, Wrestling USA, United World Wrestling, and USA Wrestling Junior, Cadet and Folkstyle Nationals. Every one of these was earned in high school, or in the junior age groups that run just past it, at a national event, against the rest of the country.

Before college, and against the country

Every one of these was won in a high school singlet, at a national event, against the rest of the country. Different organizations, different events, five decades apart ... and an All-American from one is not an All-American from another, which is why every line below starts with who gave it.

A note on ages. The USA Wrestling and United World Wrestling junior divisions run to twenty rather than to graduation, so a wrestler can place in one after leaving high school ... Tony Black won his 2000 FILA Junior medal as a college freshman. Every other honor on this wall was won by a Wildcat still in school.

    NCAA Division I and III, NAIA and the NCWWC national title, won competing for a school ... and below them the U.S. Open and Olympic Trials results wrestled years later.

  • The WIAA honor roll

    Twenty individual state titles, every state qualifier, the five team state appearances, and every conference and regional champion on record.

  • Wildcats on college rosters

    Alumni who went on to a college team, each with the last season on record. A list of where people are, not a list of what they have won.
