River Falls Youth Wrestling: Registration Overview
Follow these two steps to register your child for our youth wrestling program:
Purchase a USA Wrestling Membership
Visit www.usawmembership.com and complete the Athlete Membership ($60). Membership is required before signing up.
Choose a Program
Select the program that matches your child’s grade level, review fees and schedules, and complete the online registration form.
Practice Location:
All practices take place in The Pit (the lower level of Meyer Middle School).
Program Fees:
• Pre-K/4K – Kindergarten: $60 (45 minutes once per week)
• Grades 1 – 2: $60 (45 minutes once per week)
• Grades 3 – 5: $140 (75 minutes twice per week)
Volunteer Deposit:
A $100 deposit is required at registration. Each family must complete 5 volunteer hours and donate $50 in concession items by season’s end. The deposit is refunded once requirements are fulfilled.

Step 1: Purchase Your
USA Wrestling Membership
Before signing up for any program, your child needs a USA Wrestling Athlete Membership ($60 per year). This membership ensures proper insurance coverage and allows participation in sanctioned events. Valid through August 31.
What’s Included:
• Secondary sports accident insurance and supplemental benefits for non-sanctioned events. This coverage protects your child during practice and competition.
• A one-year subscription to USA Wrestler magazine, keeping you informed on news and tips.
• Access to all USA Wrestling-sanctioned events, camps, clinics, and club programs nationwide.

How to Purchase:
1. Visit www.joinusawrestling.com
2. Create or log into your account
3. Select the Athlete Membership option and complete checkout
Once your membership is active, save or print your membership confirmation. You will need it when you register for our program.
Step 2: Register for Your Child’s Wrestling Program
Now that your USA Wrestling membership is active, choose the program that matches your child’s grade and complete the online registration. Practices take place in The Pit (the lower level of Meyer Middle School). Scroll down for program details, fees, and schedules.*Family Plan: If you register more than one child, your total program fees will be capped at $200. USA Wrestling memberships are still required for each child.4K – Kindergarten
January–March, once per week
(Tuesdays, 5:30–6:15 PM)
- Introduce basic movement skills through fun, games-based activities
- Emphasize balance, coordination, and confidence in a low-pressure setting
Practice Format: Once per week for 45 minutes, led by youth coaches
Competition: No formal competitions; the emphasis is on learning and enjoyment
Includes: Free River Falls Wrestling T-shirt and an end-of-season celebration
Grades
1 – 2
January–March, once per week
(Tuesdays, 6:30–7:15 PM)
- Teach fundamental wrestling positions (stance, motion, level change, penetration) through age-appropriate drills
- Introduce simple tumbling and agility exercises to build coordination
Practice Format: Once per week for 45 minutes, with a mix of skill drills and games
Competition: One team competition is available for interested families; participation is optional
Includes: Free River Falls Wrestling T-shirt and an end-of-season celebration
Grades
3 – 5
December–March, twice per week
(Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30–6:45 PM)
- Focus on intensive sport-specific movements and advanced wrestling techniques suitable for competition
- Emphasis on building strength, endurance, and tactical skills for takedowns, escapes, and defense
Practice Format: Twice per week for 75 minutes.
Competition:
- Opportunity for the team to compete in Victory Conference duals and team dual
- River Falls Youth Tournament
- Wrestlers are encouraged to compete in at least one event; total matches should not exceed the number of practices attended
Includes: Free River Falls Wrestling T-shirt and an end-of-season celebration

Join the River Falls Wrestling Booster Club to get involved in fundraising, event planning, and promoting wrestling in our community. As a thank-you for your support, we will waive your child’s wrestling program fee for the season.
Coaching Opportunities
Interested in coaching? Join our coaching team and receive free program fees for your child. Coaches are required to attend at least 70% of practices.
- USA Wrestling Leader Membership Required: A Leader membership includes a background check and SafeSport training.
- Copper Level Coaches Certification: To coach mat side at the Youth Qualifier and Youth State, you must hold a Copper Level Coaches Certification.
Coaches are responsible for the cost of their USA Wrestling membership, background check, SafeSport training, and any required certifications.
Volunteer Your Skills
Share your talents and help enhance our program. We are currently seeking:
- Photographers: Capture the excitement of matches and events.
- Digital Marketers: Assist in promoting our program to reach more families.
- Social Media Managers: Engage with our community and manage our platforms.
- Graphic Designers: Create visuals for promotional materials.
- Videographers and YouTube Team: Help with live streaming and video content.
- Sponsorship Coordinator: Network with local businesses to secure sponsorships and support.
